Having just participated in an Andy Cain training seminar I thought I would relay some of my thoughts on the week. Andy comes from a long background of working with people, which instantly shows through the moment you meet him. Andy is very confident in his abilities to make a difference to peoples professional development, which is evident in his style of delivery: Andy's balance of the light-hearted banter and serious learning points made the difference here. Andy maintained a great atmosphere in the room all week, which rubbed off on all the participants, raising group synergy and really keeping momentum throughout. This is of vital importance as it is all too easy to get keel-hauled through the ocean of information on week long seminars like these. The way he delivered the information was erudite, varied and succinct, Andy makes full use of a variety of different methods, both visual and textual to maintain interest and focus in the group. I approached the seminar after one month in the Recruitment business, but there was a whole range of experience in the room, from new starters to people with over six months experience. Andy has clearly spent a lot of time developing his course structures, as the whole group found the whole week fully beneficial. No matter how much experience you had going into the seminar, there wasn't a wasted moment, and no doubt I will be enrolling on his refresher course for the second time, having found it extremely relevant, and very affirming of what I already understood. At the end of the week, although I felt that both information barrels had been fired at me, it all made perfect sense. Nothing blurred into one, and each individual section/topic covered was very distinct in my mind. To back this up I also recieved a very well presented folder at the start of the week. This contained everything needed to back up the weeks learning, and was organised excellently. A variety of different learning techniques again were employed throughout, which complimented Andy's teaching well. I came away from the week feeling light hearted, motivated and energised, ready to give my unit a full broadside using the techniques I have just learned. |
